Doreen Mathews Brinkerhoff, 76, passed away peacefully at her home in Pasco on January 14th after a lifetime full of love and service to her children, family and God. Doreen was born to Eldon and Dorothy Mathews in Burley, ID on January 12, 1935. In her early teens, the family moved to the Pasco Washington area, where many family members still reside.

In 1955 she met Reed Brinkerhoff, a student at the UW. Shortly thereafter, they were married in the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City, UT. Their family began with six girls, and was completed with two boys.

Doreen lived a life full of love. She held great love for her children and grandchildren. In her later years, she was very close to her neighbors at the Tri-Cities Retirement Inn.

She is survived by ten siblings, eight children, forty grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

The family wishes to express a deep gratitude to the staff at the Tri-Cities Retirement Inn for the years of compassionate care they showed to our mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

Viewing will be Monday, January 17 from 5-8 PM at Memories at Sunset Event Center, 915 Bypass Highway, Richland.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, January 18, at 2:00 PM at the LDS Chapel on Road 108 in Pasco.
