John had lots of wonderful qualities and interests. He was great to converse with from sports to travel to world events. We will miss him greatly.
Uncle John, You will be missed and I cherish the memories of you playing with me and my sisters when we were little.
Uncle John – I’m so glad I got to see you and Aunt Elaine when you visited Jersey not so long ago. Words cannot describe how much I miss you already but I take comfort in knowing you are with your parents and sisters. My mom always talked so fondly about you.
I worked with John for many years at Boeing Computer Services, Richland. My prayers are with his family. He will be missed.
Elaine, John Michael, Mark, Scott, Eric, Chris and families. We were so saddened to hear about John’s death. He was one of the first individuals I met when I moved to Richland and enjoyed the many hours playing hoops and softball with him, and doing the post-game analysis at the Gaslight. Also, enjoyed my visits to his and Elaine’s home and the dinners they made for me. He was a wonderful and caring individual. He had a great sense of humor. He touched a lot of lives and will certainly be missed. Love, Don and Carol Farmer & Family
John was our good friend for over 30 years. He will be missed! Our condolences to Elaine and the whole family.
My uncle John was one of my favorite people. He was a character reference for me for my first job out of college. When John and Elaine lived in Maryland, I used to go to lunch with he and my mother Betty afternoons after kindergarten. He used to pick me up and hug me and tickle me with his beard. I will always hold a place for him in my Heart. My prayers are with the Raleigh family.

John was a good man and a kind soul. I have fond memories of him. He and my mom, Betty, were very close. He will be missed. Aunt Elaine, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. We can all find comfort in knowing he is at peace and with God.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Elaine and all the boys. I will remember the many years talking to John over the fence in our backyard. He will be missed! Love to all!

I will deeply miss John. I will always remember his wry sense of humor & all the fatherly advice he shared with me during my teen years living next door. I will especially miss sharing a beer with him while watching/listening to some Seattle sports event. John & Elaine will forever be my “parents next door.” Their five sons wonderfully reflect their loving & nurturing days as a family. It was a special gift to me to see all of them together this past week. Thanks John for sharing your life so openly with me. Much love & many hugs, vince oxox
Joe and I send our deepest condolences to Elaine and the boys. I will always remember John on those warm summer nights at the neighborhood pool. Jessra was a little girl and the Raleigh boys were teenagers doing cannon balls! Those were fun times! I always appreciated John’s dry, wry wit. I’m sure that he is chuckling that he passed on 1/1/11 and had his services on 1/11/11 at 11. How fitting for a computer genius!!!
All our love,
Lucinda, Joe, and Jessra
Connie and I wish you Elaine and your family the best of better years ahead. We are sorry for your loss.
