To the family,
Deepest sympathy for the loss of a truly wonderful person. I am so fortunate that Jim was my friend for many years. We had some good times golfing and talking about sports and gardens. He will be greatly missed.
You are in our thoughts and prayers now and in the difficult times ahead.
Gene Glover and family
My sympathy goes out to all the other friends of Jim. I met Jim when I took up golf at Horn Rapids where we played for several years. He was renowned for his “controlled fade” golf shot which put the ball accurately onto the green…time after time. He was a splendid fellow and it was a great pleasure to have known him.
I remember going over to his house and him teaching us boys how to golf. His poor yard!! I share your grief at the loss of Mr. Mathis and celebrate the wonderful life that he led. Love you guys!
