Tom was a native of Kennewick graduating in the class of 1963. After graduation Tom joined the United States Marine Corps and served in the Viet Nam conflict, achieving the rank of Sergeant.

Tom's occupation as an accountant/controller provided him the opportunity to live in the Virgin Islands, Alaska, Texas and California, before retiring to a mountain home in Oregon. Tom loved boating and traveling to various countries throughout the world, and was an exceptional cook and could make the best pies. Family and friends benefited from the candles he would pour. Tom was a certified scuba diver and enjoyed collecting guns. Tom was extremely proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren.
