Virginia was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed by all of those that had the privilege of knowing her.

James Sr., Spokane; grandson Rodney "Scooter" Walker James Jr. Richland; granddaughter Emily James; sister Maxine "Mickey" Carte Henry, Lees Summit, Mo.; and sister in law Eloise Lee, Richland. Grandpa, I miss you and really wish I could have been there for the services. Grandma Virginia was the best. I remember playing there as a kid all the time with keggar the dog and you’d always sneak me taffy and candies when my mom always said no. Riding in my electric car you guys got. I remember lots of laughing and always lots of love. I have lots of great memories of you and you will be dearly missed. I love you grandpa. And i will forever miss you grandma.
My thoughts and prayers go out to my family. Aunt Babe…you were an amazing woman and an inspiration to all who knew you, thanks for being such a special blessing in my life and for leaving us an incredible legacy for all of us. Give Grandma, my Mom and Dad, and Aunt Ardie big hugs….until we meet again!!! With much love,Twink
Sending my deepest Condolences to all the Family in the loss of my dear, Aunt Babe. She was a wonderful, loving human being and we will all miss her so much. What a grand promise there is from the bible of the resurrection. My Aunt Babe will be resurrected. Sending loving thoughts.
Miz James was what I called her when she loved me like her own. As a child, I didn’t have the understanding to recognize or appreciate the work or the sacrifices or anything really. What are YOU guys having for dinner? But I knew I was loved. She and Ralph have had far more impact on my life than they can possibly know in this life. Although my heart grieves in the present, I look forward to that time when in the Kingdom of Christ we can rejoice together without lack of time, weakness of flesh, closeness of mind or blindness of heart. Thank you Virginia, “Miz James”. It is the blessing of God to have you in my life. I rejoice that now He is revealing it all to you, all that he has accomplished with yours.
My condolences and prayers to the family but especially to Ralph and Mickey. Virginia was always very kind and generous. She was even patient enough to teach me to crochet when I was 16 – a valuable, creative skill. Virginia is rejoicing with the Savior that she clung to and about whom she told me so many years ago.
Our lives were all the richer for having had “Miz James” in our world. So many wonderful memories fill my mind and heart, but one stands out. Her door was always open to the many children whom she loved and cared for over the years. I can remember times when my son felt perfectly comfortable if he didn’t like what we had for dinner…then he’d just run over and see what Ralph and Miz James were having. She’d call if he decided hers looked better than mine. An extra plate was always available. I can see her taking care of each of us as we go to join her in God’s dining room. God Bless You, Dear Friend.
Ralph, this is Betty Southard’s daughter Roxanne, we were very sorry for your loss. I remember both of your kindnesses when dad and mom lived across from you on Marshall Street.Virgina was a wonderful lady, we all loved her. We can’t thank you enough for all the food Virgina made for dad when mom was working and you both keeping and eye out for them. My mom passed on May 9th this year and she always asked me if I had seen or heard from either of you, she knew of the illness Virgina had and she always had fond memories of her, I remember when you bought the Plymouth “Batmobile” as we called it from mom and dad. My brother Chuck passed last month on the 9th too. Please take care, and thank you both from all of us Southard Girls.
