Kuniko Turner

Kuniko Turner January 7, 1939-September 17, 2011

Kuniko died September 17, 2011, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Kuniko was born in Chiba, Japan in 1939 and came to the United States in 1966 after being married in Yokosuka, Japan. She began her new journey in California, then, moved to Washington State where she lived for more than forty years.

An extremely hard-working and independent woman, Kuniko worked as a waitress while raising two children. In 1986 she began working as a Cabin Service Specialist for United Airlines. She retired in 2002 providing her more time to spend with her family and many close, cherished friends and pickleball buddies.

Strong-willed and dedicated to what she loved, Kuniko enjoyed time with her grandchildren and remained a Mariners fan until the very end!!! She is survived by her son, Jim Julie Turner and their children, Gabby, Sydney and Ethan; her daughter, Midori Shayne Nyby and their children, Cai and Makena; her brother's, Kazuo Misako Ono and Shizuo Iyako Ono and their children.

We would like to thank all of her friends for the support and phone calls, and a very special thank you to the staff at Columbia Basin Hematology and Oncology for the wonderful care.

We will miss you Obasaan!!
