JOHN PATRICK HAYES

John Patrick Hayes, 15, of Richland, WA made his final journey Saturday afternoon, November 26, 2011, in Seattle Children's Hospital. He was a sophomore at Richland High School. Born in Charleston, South Carolina on December 23, 1995, he had lived in Georgia, Louisiana, Hawaii, and Rhode Island, as well as Port Orchard, Poulsbo, and Everett, Washington before moving to Richland in June 2010. He was the son of LCDR John William Hayes, USN Ret of Lake Charles, LA and Rachel Dawn Clark Hayes of Grayson, LA.

Patrick enjoyed reading, singing, playing computer games, and spending time with his brother Aaron and his dogs, Frisbee and Basil. He was a member of the Richland High Concert Choir, the German Club, and the Quesadilla Club. He was a multiple donor to Locks of Love. He planned to study to become a veterinarian.

Patrick was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents: Tom Silvia, and Cecil and Marguerite Hollier Hayes; his maternal great-grandparents: James Allen and Eunice Oser Clark, and Oliver and Fla Spell McGehee.

Patrick is survived by his parents and one brother, Aaron Matthew Hayes, all of Richland; his paternal grandparents Simon John and Anna Marie Silvia Hayes of Moss Bluff, LA; his maternal grandparents Jessie and Lois McGehee Clark of Grayson, LA; his great-grandmother, Gertrude "Pete" Silvia of Moss Bluff, LA.
