Mary Katherine Clossey
Mary "Nana" Clossey, 91, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 15th, 2011 at Kadlec Hospital with family by her side.
Mary was born March 7th, 1920 to Dennis and Elizabeth O'Shea in Rutland, Vermont. During her high school years in Vermont, she was a cheerleader for Mount St. Josephs Academy where she acquired her lifetime love of sports, especially baseball, which her uncle Howard would take her to. She worked as an accountant for the state of Vermont before moving from Vermont to Richland, Washington in 1948 with her husband Leonard Clossey Sr. to start and raise their family.
She worked for General Electric Company for a few years at Hanford. She then worked as a homemaker raising four children and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grand children.
In her free time she enjoyed watching Mariner and Yankee baseball games and having family over to watch WSU & Notre Dame football games, and WSU & Gonzaga basketball games. She was a NCAA March Madness enthusiast watching nearly all games each year. She also enjoyed watching and answering questions to game shows. She also dedicated time to the Catholic Church Altar Society to provide decorations for the church.
Nana had a way of making everyone feel special and her home was the center of the family. She always hosted the holiday dinners and made everyone feel welcome. Her cooked chicken was the best ever. All of us have fond memories that will be cherished in our hearts forever. We could not have asked for a more loving mom, grandmother and great grandmother.
Our Nana will be dearly missed by all her family. Mary is survived by her two sons Leonard Maria Clossey, Timothy Debbie Clossey; daughter Patricia Grant Haaker; son-in-law, Dale Gunter Terry; 12 grandchildren, Barbi Dan Wolf, Tami Johansen, Kimberly Matt Giller, William Clossey, Gabriel Clossey, Jesse Clossey, Michael Clossey, Natalie Clossey, Patrick Clossey, Kaitlin Clossey, Trent Haaker, Shea Haaker; 3 great-grandchildren, Jarett Wolf, Riley Johansen, and Lillie Johansen. Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Leonard Clossey Sr.; daughter, Katherine Gunter; brother, Francis O'Shea; sisters, Teresa Davis, and Elizabeth Hogan.
Christian Mass and burial will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Stevens Drive at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2011. A viewing will be held at Einan's Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 23, 2011; from 5 – 7 p.m. with Rosary at 6:00 p.m.

Gods Garden
God looked around his garden
and saw an empty place.
He then looked down on earth,
and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
and lifted you to rest.
Gods garden must be a beautiful place,
He only takes the best.
He knew that you would never
get well on earth again.
He saw the road getting rough
and the hills hard to climb,
So he closed your weary eyes
and whispered “Peace Be Thine”.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
but you’re not going alone.
for part of us went with you
the day God called you home.
If tears could build a stairway
and heartaches could make a lane,
we’d walk a path to Heaven
and bring you home again.
— I am so sorry Trish for your loss but know that your mother is in the BEST place and dancing with the angels. May God rest her soul.

To all my Clossey relatives, my thoughts and prayers are with you today & Sunday. May Mary rest in peace. Gramp Clossey also died at Thanksgiving and was always remembered in our blessings on that day and still lives in our hearts. Love to all, Maureen
Nana,
As hard as it is to say goodbye, we know we will always remember your loving heart and the beautiful grandma you were to us all. My fondest memories are of our family trips to the Oregon Coast, our amazing shopping trips to “Nordie’s”, reading the tea
leaves from your coffee cup, and the many times you pin curled my hair. You taught us
to live our lives with integrity and always made us feel welcomed and loved when we
stopped by. No place will ever be the same
as Nana’s. You were like a second mom
and I will miss you so. You had impeccable
style and we always took joy in the stylish and thoughtful presents you chose for us.
Nana’s gifts were always first class! I know
you are at peace with Mom and Damps and
that some day we will see you again. We
love you more than words can ever say.
Love,
Barbi, Dan, and Jarett Wolf

Mary Mary,
I only knew you for six short months but I will never forget you. You were a wonderful combination of sweet and oh so fiesty. It was my pleasure to have been your caregiver. I wouldn’t trade one day for anything.
I will miss you, Mary Mary.
