I love you grandma and will always miss you!
I met Shirley last fall at the Atomic Bowling Center and instantly bonded with her. Every Wednesday League day I would try to spend time with her; she had such a loving spirit about her – she made me feel good! Glenn is to be commended for the tender, loving care he gave her: she was always nicely dressed and her hair done. Glenn: I feel a great loss, too, though I only knew her for a short time, I feel blessed. She will be greatly missed.
Sincerely,
Norma

Dear Glenn,
I didn’t really know Shirley but from what I read she was a wonderful wife and mother. I am so sorry for your loss and pray for you to find comfort. Thanks for the great teaching/coaching at Ki-Be. Elaine Lair Lewis
I remember Shirley well when her husband Glen taught and coached at Kiona-Benton. She was the cute reddish haired young woman who reminded our family of actress Shirley McClaine. My father and mother, Robert and Veda Anderson enjoyed Shirley and Glen and their family. Dad was Glen’s Superintendent at Ki-Be at the time. I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to Glen and his family. Shirley will be remembered with fond memories. She lit up everyones’ lives with her steady smile and sweet, cheerful personality. May you rest in peace Shirley. God Bless, Joan.
I remember playing with Glenn Meinke at Benton City. My dad was superintendant. I was too young to remember Mrs. Meinke but thought her husband was a real good baseball coach. Dennis Anderson 1961. Went to Othello High School my Sophomore year. Went on to teach at Prosser for 30 years.
I met Shirley & Glenn in Benton City when Glenn and I were sharing coaching responsiblities at KiBe High School back in 1962. I will always remember Shirley with that beautiful smile and her gentle ways as a very gracious lady. She was always there for Glenn after ever high school game, win or lose, giving her support, a smile, and words of encouragement. Shirley will be missed greatly by her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
