PATRICIA A. REEDER 1933-2011
Beloved sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend passed away at her home December 4, 2011 after a year-long battle with lung cancer.
Born Patricia Ann Arel to Edward Joseph and Elva Harriet Arel May 3, 1933 in Crookston, MN where she lived for 18 years until joining the Navy. There she met William F. Reeder, married and was discharged while expecting their first child, Will. They had three more children, Kalleen, Mark and Shawn in their 22 years of marriage until divorcing.
Pat continued to raise her children while holding down a position as accountability tech with Exxon Nuclear Advanced Nuclear Fuel, Siemens, Framatone and now known as Areva. She retired in 1996.
An active member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Pat was involved in YLI, Leisure Club, Birthday Club, Tuesday Morning Coffee, Friday Morning Bulletins and supported the school while two of her ten grandchildren attended.
She loved family get-togethers for any reason. Loved trips to Lincoln City, with a small herd of family to enjoy shopping and the casino she never lost what she came there with and sometimes came out a little ahead. When she was able, she enjoyed trips with church friends or family to places like Mary Hill Museum, The Grotto, Winnemucca, Leavenworth, Mt. Rainier and even made a trip to Victoria, BC and experienced Orca watching. Her most favorite trips were to her home town, Crookston, MN.
A generous person, Pat gave of her time, talents and resources to help others in need.. She often opened her home to strays - human ones - that her sons brought home many a time while "they still lived at home.
She loved life, her family, her friends and especially she loved her Lord Jesus and counted on him for all matters of her life. She will be missed more than she could know.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Elva Arel and oldest son, William P. Reeder.
She is survived by sister Marie Elder Jack of West Richland, WA; brother Edward S. Arel Lori of Kennewick, WA; children Kalleen Murphy Mark of Richland; Mark Reeder, Richland; Shawn Reeder Connie of Lakewood, WA.
She was blessed with grandchildren, Danielle, Evan, Erika, Shawnie, John, Andy, Rebekah, Brian, Matthew, and Naomi who helped her through her fight with cancer.
A memorial mass will be celebrated Saturday, December 17, 2011, 10 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Stevens Dr, Richland, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tri-Cities Cancer Center or Hospice at The Chaplaincy.
To all of you,
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Pat was a wonderful person, whenever I needed help at CK Parish she was there for me and would even roundup others to help. She will be truly missed.

Andy and Shawnie,
I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your Grandma. I remember what a wonderful lady she was from the times she came into the classroom. My love and prayers go out to your family.
Much love,
Mrs. Dale
Pat was a neighbor of ours on Blue St. in Richland Village over 40 years ago. Though I haven’t seen Pat in many years, I still remember how nice, fun, and generous she was, and always a good friend to our family. My mom Roma Blalock and I send our condolences to the family.
My favorite memory of Pat will always be how she made brownies “just for Adam” my 4 year old every Tuesday for the morning coffee after mass. Her little buddy will miss her brownies and her hugs, but he knows she’s in heaven now. Our sincere condolences.
Mark sorry to hear about your mother gilly
