From Richland, WA, US | Born in Salt Lake City, UT
Bonnie DeEtte Davis
Bonnie DeEtte Davis passed away on January 24th at Guardian Angel Homes. She was 88 years old and a 55 year resident of the Tri-Cities. She had been married to our Dad, Jim Davis for 62 years prior to his passing. She was the 4th of 6 children born to John McDonald Brown and Jessie Engleman Brown in Salt Lake City. She and Dad met in Twin Falls, Idaho where they both graduated high school. She was a Navy wife, housewife, and mother. She had worked at the phone company, in the grocery business and at Seattle First National Bank in Richland.
In retirement, Bonnie and Jim were snowbirds in Yuma, Arizona for almost 30 years. She loved to dance, play cards and the slot machines, read, crochet and walk. She loved sitting on her deck in the sunshine. She especially liked to visit with her grandchildren, Tracie Pettes, Mary Ann Roberts, Shelly McCain and John Smithwick and her 8 great grandchildren. She was hard working, smart, thrifty and funny. Her sense of humor endured almost to the very end of her life. She is remembered with love by her daughters and spouses Laurel and Ron Smithwick of Richland and Linda Davis-Brede and Doug Brede of Spokane and her sister Gloria Engle of Seattle, WA. In addition, she leaves many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Her sisters, Geneve and Enid and brothers Piere and John and her husband, Harry James Davis precede her.
After her beloved husband passed, her health became fragile and she suffered strokes and dementia. She was unable to live independently. Many thanks to Guardian Angel for their considerate and loving care.
At her request no service will be held. Her remains will be interred at the National Veterans Cemetery in Kent, Washington with those of her spouse. Rest in peace, Mom.
I was so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. I am certain she is blessed to be at peace now. My heart goes out to you knowing how hard it is for those left behind to make peace with these transitions. Love to you and your family ~ Wendy
I remember Mr. and Mrs. Davis when they lived across the street from us on Holly Street in Richland. They were two of kindest, most considerate people. Mrs. Davis loved her Rambler station wagon, and always had a ready smile and a kind word. My sincerest sympathy to her family.
I have very fond memories camping with Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Jim. They were always kind and gentle and will be remembered lovingly.
I have many happy memories of times with Bonnie and Jim. Bonnie was always loyal to me and I appreciated that very much. May she rest in peace, knowing she lived a life filled with more good times than bad.
I treasure the many happy memories I have of Aunt Bonnie. Mom and dad had many wonderful times with Jim and Bonnie, for so many years, including their travels together. My mother asked to be remembered especially to Linda and Laurel. You are all in our hearts and prayers. Love, Marjie
I will always remember Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Jim with warm affection.
