George M. Woelki Born November 5, 1941 in Danzig Germany Departed May 16, 2012 He resided in Richland.
George was born in Danzig and sailed the high seas to the United States in 1952 with his father, mother, sister and brother. The family's first stop in the U.S. was in Iowa where he lived for 9 years.
He joined the Air Force to protect his new home he so loved. After serving his country George went to work in the Aerospace Industry working for what was known back in the day as AiResearch in Phoenix AZ. After 18 years in the desert he transferred to the Torrance, CA division where he retired after 34 years of service as the Director of Quality Assurance and Facilities for AlliedSignal formerly AiResearch. He then went on to manage a wood working and hardware store Rockler in his home town. He was a man of many talents and was not shy about sharing them with family, friends and any one in need. California became too crowded and busy for his liking so in 2008 George and his wife moved to the Tri Cities where he lived out his final years back in the desert.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
My deepest symphathy for you and family. I did not know George but I’m sure that both of you had a beautiful life together. A life to hold deep and close to your heart. My Prayers are with you always. God Bless Love Joanne
I’ll miss you a lot George. You were a kind hearted soul and a good friend. You pass through my thoughts often. Thank you for your inspiration. Many, many great memories
We only had a few years to get to know George, but we have very precious memories as he joined our extended “family”. Our prayers are with you and that you feel His presence and comfort. We love you!
George, I just discovered that you had passed from this life to be with Jesus. I now understand why you have been so heavily on my mind the last couple of years. Although I have not seen or spoken to you in forty years, the kindness you freely gave me and your fatherly advice and guidance has stayed with me always. Thank you, George, for giving from your heart to a naive teenage girl what she needed…not what she wanted. You made an everlasting positive difference in my life for which I am and will be eternally grateful!
