Hattie Isabelle Hayter Knight

Hattie Isabelle Hayter Knight passed away on July 31, 2012 at Richland Life Care Center. She was born in Island City near La Grande, OR on January 29th 1915 to Harriet Dorcas and William Wallace Hayter. At age 13 she moved to Milton-Freewater, OR where she met her future husband, Everett Earl Knight. They were married on February 4, 1933 and moved to a small farm in Athena, OR where they raised four children. She lived there until moving to Richland in 1982 to be closer to her family. She retired from Rogers Processing in 1980.

Mom loved to write poetry and songs, reading the Bible, and gardening. She especially loved family get togethers.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, all of her six siblings, her husband, her grandson, Jeffrey A. Knight, and great granddaughter, Tiffany Hendrix. She is survived by her son James and wife Wilma of Port Ludlow, WA, daughter Dora and her husband Claude Wilson of Walla Walla, WA, son Ken and wife Ilene of Richland, WA, daughter Kaye Knight of Anchorage, AK, 11 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Viewing will be held at Einan's Funeral Home, 915 Bypass Hwy, Richland, WA, on August 3, 2012 from 5:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral services with a light reception will be at Einan's Funeral Home on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 2:00pm. Internment will follow in Athena, OR at approximately 6:00 p.m.
