Nellie Mae Bohanon December 25, 1928 - September 26, 2012
On Wednesday, September 26th, 2012, our mother, grandmother, sister and friend Nellie Mae Bohanon was called home to be with her husband Fred Bohanon, mother Magnolia George, and sisters Onie Bell Groce and Vera Stone by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Nellie Mae "Momma" was born in Kildare, TX. During her youth she enjoyed sports, especially basketball. Momma relocated to the Tri-Cities where she met and married her husband, Fred. Together, they raised her son, Danny Moten Sr.
She worked many years at Westinghouse Hanford until she retired.
Momma was very active in the St. James CME Church, where she was a choir member and stewardess. She was involved in many church functions and programs.
She had a love for cooking, entertaining and volunteering in her community. Momma enjoyed her participation in "yard of the month." She also had a love for flowers where she participated in a flower club taking flowers to the sick and elderly. She was a member of the Eastern Star and often took gifts of food to the mission – giving to those less fortunate.
She is survived by her only son Danny Moten Sr., daughter-in-law Dianne, her sister Bernice Hawkins, grandchildren Danny Moten Jr., Michael Moten and Tiffany Moten, great-grandchildren Isaiah, Nyanna, and Gabriel Moten. She is also survived by her nephew Duke Moten and Niece Annette Groce Moten.
The family would like to extend many heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all those who cared for Momma in her final years.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 1, 2012 at 2:00pm at Einan's Funeral Home in Richland, WA. A private family interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

I worked with Nellie at Westinghouse and it was a joy when she came to your office. She always had a smile and made friends of everyone. Truly a remarkable lady.
My deepest sympathies to the family of Nellie. I worked with Nellie in the late sixties at ITT. We made coils and circuit boards. She was a wonderful woman and friend. Many memories. I shall miss you old friend. Ruth
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Miss Nellie was a wonderful person. I knew her from work at Westinghouse Hanford. May God be with you at this most difficult time.
