She played violin and piano from a very early age and later participated in the junior high school, senior high school and University of Washington orchestras. She was one of the top ten students in her class to graduate in 1956 from Stadium High School in Tacoma, Washington. After receiving her bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Washington, Sally married Warner A. Blyckert in 1960. She taught second grade at Jefferson Elementary in Richland, Washington from 1960 to 1962. Sally was involved in many church activities throughout her life including a shared organist position at Richland Lutheran Church, organ substitute throughout the Tri-Cities and several elected positions of leadership in the northwest district of American Lutheran Church Women. Her love for music also brought her into the church choir. Sally was a member of the American Guild of Organists for many years. She was involved in Bible Study Fellowship where she also served as a leader. Her love for the Lord was paramount to her. Throughout her life she was grateful for the grace God had given her. "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord." I Corinthians 15:58. She died on September 12, 2012 in Tacoma, Washington. A memorial service will be held at Richland Lutheran Church on September 29 at 1:30 pm. Viewing will be held at Einan's Funeral Home on September 28 from 5 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be given in her name to Richland Lutheran Church.
We’ve known Sally for years through church women’s activities, her organ expertise, and her enthusiasm for us and for sharing her Christian faith. We think of her open smile and warm friendship whenever we think of her. We know the past couple of years have been very difficult for Sally, Warren and the family. We pray that you will find peace in your loss. God be with you.

I was saddened to read of Sally’s passing, but know that now she is in her eternal home where her Savior is. I have known Sally at least since our junior high school days and she was a good friend in our school days. I was just looking at our Stadium High School year books and at her involvement and pictures. She was lovely, talented and had a high standard for her life. We may not have seen each other, except possibly at a reunion, following our high school days, but in reading about her in the obit it sounds like the Sally who had a good foundation from her youth. My prayers and condolences to all of the Blyckert family and to her sister and extended family. God bless and be with you.
Memories of walking into church each Sunday and hearing Sally play the organ brings a smile to my face and joy to my heart. The sound of an organ is still one of my favorite sounds. May the entire family find comfort in knowing how many lives Sally touched.
I was blessed to grow up with Sally as another caring mother who watched out for me and wanted nothing but the best for me and her daughter Angela. Sally always welcomed me into her home and I spent many, many nights over at her house, cultivating a lifelong friendship with Angela. Sally always had an optimistic attitude about everything and I will never forget her smile. I thank God for her guidance and acceptance and I am happy knowing she is with him now and at peace.
Sally was a very warm and friendly person always had the joy of Jesus smile on her face. May God comfort her family as this time. She is with her Lord and Savior.
My memories of Sally go back many years at Richland Lutheran Church. I got to know Sally when John was in my pre-school class at Paulson’s. Her gracious smile and personality are imprinted in my spirit as I join the many who loved her and are offering prayers for her family.
I have known Sally since we were in the 5th grade and both played the violin in the orchestra. I always wanted to play as good as Sally, but that was impossible !! She was such a gracious person, talented, thoughtful and truly a child of God. The last time I was able to visit with her was at our Stadium High School 50th Class reunion in 2006, she was the same gracious person. My sympathy to Warner and her children and grandchildren. I know she will be truly missed, but she is now in God’s loving care and free from her illness.
