Alice Wilma Peebles Williams

Our loved one went peacefully to be with her Lord on October 28, 2012 in Yakima, WA. She was born August 20, 1927 in Harwood, WA. She lived several years in Sunnyside and then Richland. Her retirement years were spent in Arizona. She was a past member of Temple Baptist Church and a current member of Green Valley Baptist Church where she was active as church treasurer and member of the choir. She retired from Hanford and was proud of her accomplishment of becoming the first woman journeyman power operator in the area. She was a loving mother to many foster children over the years. She loved to sew, crochet and spend her time with numerous arts and craft projects.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lee Peebles, her parents, Pete and Ruth Rutz, two brothers, Donald and Leo Rutz, and one infant sister, Leona Irene Rutz.

She is survived by her husband of five years, Carroll Williams, 4 children, Susan Beavers from CA, Cindy Clark from Arizona, Sharon Schermerhorn from Nevada and David Peebles from Ohio, one sister, Lila Robison from Yakima. She was the proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

Come and help us celebrate her life at the service Thursday, November 1, at Einan's Funeral Home in Richland, WA at 11:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, WA. Public viewing will be October 31 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Einan's.

  • Cindy: I really appreciate that you called yesterday. I was so “rattled” that I didn’t get your email address.

It’s been so long since we’ve spoke to one another and as a funeral director I should have known what to say…. but, I’m human! We, truly, are sorry so hear of Aunt Wilma’s passing, but, she and Uncle Lee are together again.
