Karola Kover

Karola Kover, 80, born November 18, 1931 in Budapest, Hungary, passed away on October 24, 2012. We honor and celebrate her amazing life. She was a grateful, gentle, kind, loving and wise soul. She was intelligent, creative, resourceful, and always there when you needed her love and strength. She lived in Hungary until the age of 25, during which time she lived though a depression, World War II, married Barnabas Kover and had a little girl. In 1956 during the Hungarian Revolution they escaped to start a new live which brought them to Richland, Washington with nothing but faith and love for each other and the hope of a better future. She has always possessed a strength not many realized that she had. She was thrilled when they became American citizens. Her family was the greatest joy of her life. Karola loved flowers, reading, music, crafts, and most of all Christmas and angels. She volunteered at her grandson's school for many years teaching crafts and became everyone's Grandma. She had a love for all living creatures, especially her cat named Kitty. She also was a fan of sports, and watched football games with her family, and was especially supportive of the Miami Dolphins. She was never too busy to help anyone. Her family is thankful that they had the privilege to be a part of her amazing life. She will live in our hearts and memories with an abundance of love. We will miss her so. Visitation for Karola will be on Monday, October 29th, 2012 at Einan's Funeral Home from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pet Overpopulation, PO Box 442, Pasco, Washington 99301.

  • Karolina Kover – my Karola neni:

She was strong and determined. She wsa soft and feminine. She was a “southern belle”, patriotic and proud to be an American. She was unique and talented and funny. She could take the heat hot peppers with the best of them. I loved how she would say “better’b and good grief – I think even more than Charlie Brown! She taught me how to sew on her little black Singer sewing machine. She was like a songbird when she sang with my wonderful Barna Bacsi. I miss her and him so very much. The memories are powerful.

I know, Kati, that you are struggling. I am praying for your peace. Right now, time is neither friend nor foe…but a bridge to tomorrow. One of your tomorrows, you will awake and will truly be blessed by the love your memories hold. I know that day will come. I also know you don’t feel it ever will. But hope will find a way; it always does.

    I love you sweetie.
