Roy Burton Cline

12/1/1925 – 11/17/2012

How can the life of Roy Cline be whittled down into a few short paragraphs? It does not seem possible! Those of you who knew Roy are right this minute nodding your heads in agreement!
Roy was born in Arkansas December 1st, 1925. He and his parents moved to Grandview in 1943 where he graduated from high schoolin 1944. He met the love of his life, Glenna Culverhouse, at a Grange Hall dance and they married on November 27th, 1947. Roy was the father of 6 children – Karen, Peggy, Cathy, Lori, Tony and Glenda. This resulted in 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and counting! On November 17th, Roy went to join his parents, Ordie and Zola Cline, daughters Karen Stamey and Peggy Greer, and far too many other beloved family and friends who have gone before him, no doubt awaiting his arrival with great anticipation! Roy loved God, Family and his Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star Families. Roy was a member of Benton Lodge in Benton City and Newport Lodge, Newport Washington, Eastern Star Roza Chapter in Benton City, and Zillah Chapter in Newport Washington. He was also a member of the "National Camper Travelers" with whom he enjoyed many weekends camping. Roy was a Master Carpenter, retiring from the Hanford area in 1990. His skills and knowledge were happily taught to anyone with a desire to learn and the ability to listen, whether they were 8 or 80. He was smart, kind, funny, and honest -a wonderful husband, father and friend. Simply put, Roy was a wonderful person. He loved people, and for Roy there were no strangers – only friends he hadn't met yet! As we mourn the loss of his physical being, just remember that we mourn not for him, but for ourselves – he knew where he was headed at the end of his time here on Earth, and was excited about the journey ahead! Roy would ask that you shed your tears, wipe them away, put on a smile and tell a good story about him! Get on with the business of laughing, loving and living. Roy joined family and friends who have gone before him on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at home and in the arms of his wife of almost 65 years. We love and miss you Roy. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Spokane Shrine Hospital. Services will be held at Einan's Funeral home November 27, 2012 with graveside services and reception to follow.
