ERNEST L. McDOWELL On December 15, 2012 Ernest L. McDowell, 89 passed away at Kennewick General Hospital. He is survived by his daughters Sue Fearing Russell and Ann Formo and his son Ernest Hank McDowell Elaine, he also had 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. His wife Marian A. McDowell passed away in 1999. Ernie was born in Tacoma, WA. 6th of 6 children, to Elmer and Mable McDowell where he graduated from Lincoln High School before joining the Navy during World War II. He attended electrical training in Ames, Iowa where he met and married Marian A. Hewett. He served the Navy in many countries of the South Pacific. After the war he completed more training to become a Construction Electrician. He spent most of his working life with IBEW 112 electricians. Ernie and Marian lived in West Richland for 53 years. He thoroughly enjoyed watching and helping the tiny town grow to a vast and spread out city. He also enjoyed the Corvair Club, Civil Air Patrol, and Coast Guard Auxiliary. In August Ernie moved to The Royal Colombian Retirement Inn to enjoy the remaining years of his life where he met and became friends with some wonderful people. His time there was very short but quite enjoyable. Services will be at Einan's Funeral Home 3:00 pm December 18, 2012.
