From West, Richland, WA, USA | Born in Scobey, MT
Helen Marie Page
Helen Marie Page, age 71, ended her journey here on earth on December 1, 2012 with her loving husband of 48 years, Ron, by her side.
Helen was born November 26, 1941 in Scobey Montana to Richard and Elenor Solem. The Solem family moved to Bainbridge Island Washington during World War II and Helen's father worked in the shipyards at Winslow. Eventually they moved to a government housing project called Steward Heights in Kirkland. They were the last family to leave there in 1953 when they moved to Issaquah Washington. Helen graduated from Issaquah High School in 1959 where she was active in Service Club, Home Economics Club, Girls Club, Girls Athletic Association, Future Teachers and Spanish Club. After graduation Helen attended Washington State College in Pullman, now WSU. She was confirmed at Concordia Lutheran Church in 1961. She graduated in 1963 with a BS in Home Economics Education and got her first teaching job at Riverview High School in Finley teaching Home Economics, Physical Education and English.
In October of 1963 she met the love of her life, Ronald Earl Page and the following June they were married. Helen stopped teaching and devoted herself to being a mother and homemaker. Helen and Ron moved their family to Pullman in 1966 so Ron could continue his education. After his graduation they moved across the country to Rochester Michigan where Ron worked for General Motors in Research and Development and Helen kept busy with their 3 children by volunteering at their school, church, scouts, and women's ministry. Her youngest child Eric was born in 1976 and shortly after that the Page family moved back to the Tri Cities where their married life had begun. In the Tri Cities Helen was active with Redeemer Lutheran Church and then Richland Lutheran Church in the hand bell choir, women's group, and helping with the youth ministry. Helen was the owner of Brighter Beginnings Preschool and for 13 years she spent her mornings with 3 and 4 year olds. She could rarely go anywhere without seeing one of her students, they always were running up to say hello to "Miss Helen".
Helen enjoyed gardening, camping, sewing, traveling to RC Fly Ins with Ron, spending time with her grandchildren and family and cheering for the WSU Cougars. Due to a long term illness Helen has touched the lives of many caregivers in the Tri Cities and was especially fond of all of the workers and volunteers at the Hospice at the Chaplaincy in Kennewick. Her main caregiver was her favorite, that was her husband Ron, and she always said he took care of her best.
Helen is survived by her husband, Ronald Page, her sister Julie Solem; and her children, son and daughter in law, Scott and Camille Page; daughter Cindy Walter; daughter and son in law Kerry and John Barker; and son and daughter in law Eric and Elizabeth Page. Helen is also survived by 5 grandchildren Bradley Page, Matthew Page, Brittani Walter, Daniel Page and Parker Page as well as loving brother and sister in laws, numerous nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Helen was preceded in death by her mother and father and grandson Bryce Walter.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Einan's Funeral Home, 915 Bypass Highway, Richland on Friday, December 7, 2012. A memorial service to celebrate Helen's amazing life will be held Saturday, December 8, 1:00 pm at Richland Lutheran Church, 901 Van Giesen Street, Richland.
Memorial donations may be made to Good News Media Ministry for Richland Lutheran Church or The Hospice at the Chaplaincy.
Helen was a dear friend for many years. We met working at Kindercare together and quickly became friends as we shared many things in common. I have many precious memories including the time I spent with her the night before she died. She was clearly trying to communicate with me! One of her most amazing traits was how she never complained and rarely talked about the struggles she was having. It was more important for her to share about her family or her life experiences. I will miss her so much!
I love you mom, and always will. What are we ever going to do without you? Love Kerry
My thoughts are with you, Julie. My Heart goes out to you and your family. Thank you, Julie, for sharing you love of your Sister with me.
Sincerely, Dorothy E. Olson
Our thoughts are with each of you as you honor Helen and the special place she will always have in each of your hearts. Although our paths first crossed when we were all at WSU, Julie has kept Helen a bright spot in our lives since then. Our love and wishes for peace are with you.

I sure do miss coming over to work with Mrs. Helen, getting her up and walking around the house. All of my love & prayers are with the Page family!!!
Helen was a dear friend of mine. I have so many memories of what Helen & I shared many years ago. We attended women’s events, concerts and that surprise party that Kary had for her Mom; family weddings etc – but most of all I pray for peace that surpasses all of us to touch your hearts and minds during this time of loss.
Were all going to miss her very much but what a time to end her journey, the beginning of Advent and she will be with our Lord. Hugs to all.

Rest in peace Helen,we didn`t know each other well but you were alway`s so kind.
I graduated with Helen in the Issaquah Class of 1959. My condolences and prayers for the Family and her dearest friends.
Helen was my wife for 48 years and ended her journey here on earth on Saturday December 1st. She was an amazing, funny and faith driven woman and the past year has been an especially tough one for her and her health. She was loved by so many people, pretty much everyone who ever met her, the ladies who helped take care of her, her students from her preschool days, her neighbors, her friends from church, not to mention myself and all of our family. To say we will all miss her is wholly inadequate. I don’t think it was a coincidence that she died on December 1st- the first day of the new church year and the first day of Advent- our favorite season.
Thank you for fighting long enough to let Parker get to know you. She is old enough to remember you always as her Grammy.
We met Helen through her parents, our best friends. She was such a gratious lady with a big heart to everyone….a gift from Jesus. We pray for Ron and all the family to be comforted by our great God and Savior Jesus. May he bless you and keep you.
Psalm 33:2 Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.
v13 From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind; from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth–
v15 he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.
v20 We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rehouce, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you…………….
In Jesus precious faith, hope, and love……1 Cor.13:13
