Herbert Brady Jr.
Every life in the eyes of the Lord is precious, and the life that entered the world on November 6th, 1926 and left this earth today, December 5th, 2012 was among the most precious. Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and patriarch of this family has been taken home to be in the arms of Jesus. Daddy, Grandpa, PowPow, You have influenced all of our lives in beautiful ways beyond what you could have ever imagined. From the age of 17, you displayed selflessness and your love for this country by enlisting into the Navy and serving courageously for nine years during World War II and the Korean War. Shortly thereafter, on October 27th, 1950 you married a beautiful young lady, Zella, whom surely charmed you with her honesty, nurturing heart, and love for the Lord. Together you two had your very first child, Jon, who blessed your hearts and your small family and introduced the both of you into years of adventurous parenthood. Following JonSheri was SisMark, MonteBrenda, PatJulie, MarilynTony, PhilipCathy, JanChuck, JerryJennifer, ElaineCarlos, CarolynCraig, and finally, the baby, JamieShawna. Each child bringing with them miracles in their own way and each filling yours and Mom's lives with love. Your 41 year employment at Westinghouse in Richland provided for your ever-growing family and enabled Mom to stay home to care for and raise your eleven children. The love you had for the Lord was shared by you with everyone who crossed your path. The honest and genuine faith you held was passed down to each of your children and grandchildren and because of that, we will carry on a piece of you with us forever. You taught us all so many life-lessons, in one dynamic or another. You shared with us your life; you were an open book to your family. To your children, your life was a portrait of a man saved by the Lord and an honorable American. To your grandchildren, you were a loving, comfy, big guy, who covered them in newspapers to keep them warm and told them stories of your adolescence that became somewhat of legends to them. We'd all hold your hand, and no matter how many times you already told us, we'd ask you, "what happened to this finger?"… and you would happily retell the story, a thousand times. Regardless of our generation, you taught us all loyalty, compassion, and forgiveness. Our memories of you will live on in our hearts until we reunite again. "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep; If I shall die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take. Amen." In loving memory of our dear Father, Herbert Brady, Jr., who has gone on to join his family and friends in Heaven that have passed on before. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Zella Brady, and all of his eleven children, 32 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. Your lessons and your love will live on in us, forever, until we see you again. With deep love, Mom and all of your children. Herbert's Celebration of Life service will be held at Faith Assembly, Rd. 72 in Pasco at 11AM on Thursday, December 13th, 2012.
