Kathleen Frances Belden
Kathleen Kathy Frances Belden died at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at home in Richland, WA surrounded by her family. She was 59 years old when she lost her battle with cancer. Kathy was born in Corning, NY on August 21, 1953 to Joseph and Eleanor Lou Morrissey. She has a sister, Karen from Corning, NY and a brother, John from Geneseo, NY. After graduating from D'Youville College in Buffalo, NY with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, she moved to Denver, CO where she met Ronald Ron Dene Belden, who was living in Leadville, CO. Kathy and Ron were married on February 17, 1979 in Denver and lived in Leadville. They have a son, Sean Phillip Belden and a daughter Lesley Karen Guereca. Sean currently resides in Parker, CO and Lesley is married to DJ Guereca and lives in West Richland, WA with their 2 year old son Lukas Emiliano Guereca. Ron's career took them to several small mining communities in Colorado, Nevada and Washington and Kathy looked at each move as an adventure where they could meet new friends, see new places and make new memories. As a nurse, Kathy always had a job when she wasn't raising Sean and Lesley at home. She always took care of and treated her co-workers and patients with the same loving care she had for her family, which made her very special to everyone. Since her retirement in 2008, Kathy and Ron had developed a passion for RVing which resulted in making some very special and long lasting friends that will always remember her fondly. While not RVing, she loved spending time with her grandson, Lukas and sewing. Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Eleanor Lou Morrissey. She is survived by her sister, Karen; brother, John; husband, Ron; son, Sean; daughter, Lesley and Lesley's husband, DJ; and her grandson, Lukas. She is also survived by Ron's parents, Leslie and Virginia Belden and Ron's brother, Ric and Ric's wife, Vicki, all from Grand Junction, CO. Heaven became a better place with Kathy there. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Memories at Sunset Event Center, Richland, WA , followed by a light reception. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice at the Chaplaincy, 1480 Fowler St., Richland, WA 99352

Thanks for being my favorite cousin. I will treasure the time we spent together- from learning how to snow ski, to water skiing, to silly April fools jokes. You brought joy and laughter to my life. I love you, Cousin Joanne
