Lela Elavon Siemens

Lela Elavon "Ellie" Siemens was born on April 3, 1929 in Dewar, OK and went into the loving arms of Jesus on December 22, 2012. Her loving & devoted husband of 66 years was by her side. Ellie married the love of her life, Dan Siemens, Jr., on January 5, 1946. She was a loving wife, mother and friend. Once her children were grown, she started her professional career with AAA Travel, retiring as a manager in 1989. Ellie loved to travel & dance with her husband and her greatest joy was being surrounded by family and close friends. Ellie had a radiant smile and encouraging nature. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her and her special wink and smile will be missed by all. She is survived by her husband Dan Siemens, Jr.; children Judy & Chuck Jerman, Don & Cathy Siemens and Carole Valentine; 9 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; brother, Walt Steel; sisters-in-law Patty & Carmen Steel & Betty Thomason and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter H. & Lela O. Work Steel and brothers, George Lowe and Wayne Steel. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 5, 2012 at Bethel Church's Desert View Room, Richland, WA at 11 a.m. with The Rev. Chuck Jerman officiating. Reception following.
