Linda Conrad Stacy
05/10/1940 — 12/30/2012
From Richland, WA, USA | Born in Independence, KS
Linda Conrad Stacy
Linda Louise Conrad Stacy, age 72, surrounded by family, passed on Sunday December 30 at Kadlec Hospital after suffering an unexpected heart attack.
Linda is survived by her husband, James N. Stacy; daughter, Toni M. Stacy; son, JD Stacy; sister, Patti John Myers; brother, Robert Irene Conrad; grandchildren, Bruce Gen Owens, Misty Andre Gonzales, ReAnna Owens, Floyd Megan Owens, Amy Jordan Garber, Darren DayLee Lathim, Kevin Lathim, Michael Stacy, and Sadie Stacy; and special friends Sara Foraker, Marianna Cross, and Lisa Stoetzel.
Linda was born May 10, 1940, weighing 6 pds. 9 oz., in Independence Kansas to Clifford and Doris Sellman Conrad. She was the oldest of three children. She attended and received an elementary graduation certificate from St. Francis Catholic School in Cherryvale, Kansas. She moved on to attend Cherryvale High School. She was very active in school functions even while working at her parent's restaurant. She was an excellent student. While in high school she fooled her father, who wanted her to attend business school, by marrying James Stacy in 1957. They had two children before moving to the Tri-Cities where they had their third child and lived and raised their family.
Linda's passions included reading, the ocean, and spending time with her family. Her life was her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her last grandchild, Sadie Stacy, was a true blessing and the apple of her eye. In spite of any discomforts she may have had, she gave everything to her family. Look out if you crossed one of them, you would have her to contend with. No matter what, she was always there for each and every one of us.
A few of her proudest moments in life were when her oldest daughter, Renee Owens, gave birth to her first grandchild, Bruce Owens; when her son, James David, graduated from high school and went into the military service; when her daughter, Toni, graduated from Washington State University; and when her grandson, Kevin Lathim, graduated magna cum laude from Eastern Washington State University and started Gonzaga University School of Law.
Linda worked as an administrative assistant at PNNL for ~30 years while attending and receiving a degree from Columbia Basin College, raising three children and also helping Jim through college.
She helped form and coach one of the first girls youth softball teams in Richland.
She might have been little; 4'11" NOT 4'10 but she was mighty. She was strong, loving, and caring. She was the magnet that pulled the family together and kept us together. She is our hero.
Linda, mom, grandma you are loved and will be missed. We know that you are in a better place and that life is in color again…we know that you can see clearly and more beautifully than ever before. Enjoy the view!
Her love and care will forever be with each and every person she has touched.
A memorial service will be held at Einan's Memories at Sunset Event Center Saturday, January 5 at 2:00; cookies and punch will be served immediately following the memorial.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to American Diabetes Association.
Jim, Toni, David, et all…
My deepest sympathy to each and everyone of you; I know how special Linda was to every life she touched.
I simply can’t think of Linda without seeing that beaming smile of hers – it was so natural and permanently etched on her face; even if JD probably gave her cause at times to clear it I know I sure gave my mom cause many a time too..lol.
Thank you Jim, for stealing her away from Kansas – we all reaped the reward.
Take Care

Dear Stacy family ,
I have been away on a businees trip and heard this week from Jimmy Feaster Mrs. Stacy has passed . I am so sorry I can not be in attendance today. I would like to share my thoughts , Mrs Stacy was like my second mother in many ways when I was a young boy. I can remember the warm hugs , the warm happy smile when I showed up to the Stacy house. She taught me how to put potato chips on the sandwichs she would make for me and David. She had faith in me and my abilities and would always encourage me. I felt confident in her strong presence. I know this is a very hard day for Mr. Stacy , Renee , Toni and James and the entire Stacy family. Mrs. Stacy has left a huge impact on many lives and her legacy will remain forever . I love you all so much.
Sincerely,
Gary K. McCulley
Dear Jim and family
I am so sorry for your loss. Linda was an incredible lady. She gave me my first job at PNNL so very many years ago. She took a shy 17 year old girl under her wing, provided me with skills and an incredible work ethic. She was the best mentor I could have asked for. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
With deepest sympathy.
Jim
We were so sorry to hear of the death of Linda. We just wanted to let you know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Larry and Earlena
To Jim and the Stacy Family
My sincere condolences for your loss. Linda was a friend and mentor when I re-entered the work force at PNNL. We shared a birthday lunch most years since we retired and would catch up on each other’s lives, children, and grandchildren. My husband and I are snowbirds this year in Arizona and I wouldn’t have know of Linda’s passing if it weren’t for a mutual friend notifying me. Again, condolences. I will miss her too.
Jim and family:
I was saddened to hear of Linda’s passing. I have such fond memories of her, her family, and you. The obit in the Independence paper was wonderful. Our thoughts, prayers, and sincere condolences are with all of you.
Your friend and high school classmate, Nancy Kebert
Jim, I was so sorry to hear of Linda’s passing. I knew her since the 1st grade at St Francis. We took dancing lessons together in 2nd grade; We ended up having the same 1st communion dress because our Mother’s both decided that taking the trim off our dance recital costumes was all it would take to turn them into little white drsses for 1st communion.
I know you & your family will miss her tremendously. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
