Ruth Stender Moak Ruth Stender Moak passed away in Richland, Washington December 20, 2012 at the age of 97. Ruth was born September 1, 1915 in Dent, MN to Otto and Marie Redmond Stender. She attended high school in Belfield, ND and graduated from Dickinson ND State Teacher's College in 1937 with a two year Second Grade teaching certificate. She taught second grade in public schools in Halliday and New England, ND and Lind, Enumclaw, and Tacoma, WA. In 1947 she earned a BA in education from Central Washington College of Education.
She married Donald N Moak on August 13, 1949 at St Leo's Church in Tacoma. She moved to Raymond, WA in 1950 and returned to Tacoma in 1958, where she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In 2005 she moved to Kennewick, WA to be close to family and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Richland. She was devoted to her family and friends and everyone appreciated her cooking skills and homemade cookies. She enjoyed watching Seattle Mariners baseball and Gonzaga basketball games. She is survived by her three children, Donald J Rebecca of Richland; Thomas of Kennewick; and Maryruth Jack Fallon of Kalispell, MT; her grandchildren Garrett Shonna Moak of Kent and Vanessa Ryan Johne of Bellevue; Jacqueline Fallon of Cle Elum, Jennifer Fallon of Tacoma, and Mark Fallon with the Army Reserves in Afghanistan. She is also survived by brothers James Margaret of Sheridan, WY; Thomas Shirley of Great Falls, MT; Jerry Betty Lou of Chinook, MT; and a sister-in-law, Mary Stender, of Cheney, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brothers Jack and Richard. Services will be held… Rosary will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Richland on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 9:00 A.M. followed by a funeral service at 10:00 A.M. A graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Tacoma on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 11:00 A.M.
