Waldena “Dena” S. Kilgore
01/27/1921 — 12/31/2012
From Richland, WA, USA | Born in Wichita, KS
Waldena “Dena” S. Kilgore
Waldena "Dena" S. Kilgore, 91, joined our Savior, her husband and many of her loved ones on December 31, 2012. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.
Dena was born on January 27, 1921 in Wichita, Kansas. Later she met and married the love of her life Robert L. Kilgore on November 27, 1942. She lived in the Tri-Cities for 60 plus years and was a longtime member of Northwest United Protestant Church. She worked in the 200 area in the late 40's. She then stayed home with her children until the late 60's when she decided to return to the workforce.
She is survived by her son Richard Kathye Kilgore, daughter Mary Jerry Hendricks; grandchildren Tracy Kilgore, Shannan Donald Paradis, Wendi Hendricks, Katrina Derek McLaughlin Bitner, Tonya Kilgore and Michael Angela Hendricks; and her great grandchildren Hailey, Chandler, Cameron, Bella and Mary Lyn.
Dena was preceded in death by her husband Robert L Kilgore, her parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. There is a very big void in our lives as she was always there to comfort us with her words of wisdom. Her sense of humor never left her and we will miss hearing her laugh.
The family would like to thank the staff of Parkview Estates, her nurse Anita and the staff of Hospice at The Chaplaincy for their wonderful care.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Einan's Funeral Home, Richland, with graveside service to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM Friday, January 4th at Einan's.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Northwest United Protestant Church or Hospice at the Chaplaincy.
Mary and Jerry so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Dena was such a beautiful person with a heart of gold. My mother will be happy to have one of her best friends with her now. May you rest in peace.
Rick, Just wanted to express our thoughts for you at this time. No words can are adequate when you lose a family member but we hope you remember that your friends are here and thinking of you. Gary and Dianne
Dena was a wonderful person and friend. I treasure my days with her visiting shut ins for NWUP church. She was a kind, considerate person who you couldn’t help but love. She will be missed.
Kilgore Family,

Dear Rick,
It has been just about 50 years since I saw either you or your mother, but just wanted to extend my sympathy to you and your family on the death of your mother. I remember her fondly and was very sad when I saw she had passed away after seeing it on Einan’s website. I am keeping your family in my prayers at this time. Remember the good times and they will sustain you. God bless all of you.
Just wanted to send our love and prayers to all of you. We have good memories of the Oregon coast and playing cards together.
I was sorry to hear of Aunt Dena’s passing, I tried many times to keep in touch and let her know I was thinking of her, sorry I had to hear of this a month later and by a 4th party.
It would have been “kinder” to have let family know
