Cindy Cynthia Ann Simpson
Cindy Cynthia Simpson, 53, of Richland, passed away on February 12, 2013. She was born on August 8, 1959 in Crookston, MN. She lived in the Tri-Cities from 1963-2013 and was a homemaker and worked at Bethel Church.
Cindy met her husband Russ Simpson while working in a food processing plant in 1979. Soon became a mother to their four children and a homemaker. Her love for children led her to serve as a daycare provider and youth group leader and friend. Her last employment was serving as a janitor for the 2440 Building; she would often come home drained from the task but spirit filled with people she came to know that worked her floor.
She blessed Russ with the last three years if her life returning as a homemaker filling Russ' life with the quality time they both longed for.
Cindy was very involved with the church serving as a youth group leader. She also served the church from 1989 to 2012 by preparing the Sunday Bulletins. Cindy loved music, crafting and drawing. She loved her pets like children; visiting the ocean and camping with Russ.
She is survived by her husband, Russ; children, Jason Simpson Phoebe, Chris Simpson, Josh Simpson and Rachel Simpson; mother, Marie Elder; step-father, Jack Elder; siblings, Sharon Brighton, Lynn Collier Mike, Steve Baird Patsy, Charlie Elder and John Elder Liz. Cindy is also survived by her grandchildren, Oliver Simpson, Natalie Simpson, and Cameron Simpson and blessed with a multitude of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded by death her grandparents Paul and Mable Baird, Ed and Elva Arel; her father, Clarion Baird and mother-in-law Margie Simpson.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 from 11:00am-3:00pm at the fellowship hall at Bethel Church, 600 Shockley Road in Richland.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Benton Franklin Humane Society.
