Frank Lipera

Frank Lipera passed away peacefully February 11 in Richland, Washington after a brief illness. Frank was born in 1921 and raised in Tacoma. He graduated from Lincoln High School and served as a Staff Sargent in the US Army in the South Pacific during WWII. After serving in the army, he married Catherine Wright of Polson, Montana and became a barber, a profession he continued in until his retirement. He was known among is customers for his sense of humor and ability to discuss all topics.

Frank read extensively about history and sports, and was a fan of the Yankees and Mariners. He was the source for family and friends needing baseball information and American military history. Frank was an avid bowler and fond of traveling making many visits to Hawaii with Catherine, along with vacations to visit family and friends.

Frank was devoted to his family and greatly enjoyed family celebrations. Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Catherine and is survived by his son Roger Lipera, and his wife Anita and, his daughter Nancy Richmond, her husband, William, and his grandson, David.

Interment will be at Mountain View in Tacoma.
