Ramona Norma Santjer, 1936-2013
Ramona Norma Santjer, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed June 4, 2013, in Richland. Ramona Norma Harris was born May 19, 1936, in Lorenzo, Idaho, to Robert Elwin Harris and Luella Drake Harris.
She grew up in Sunnyside, Wash., and married Albert Santjer in 1953. The couple lived in Sunnyside and Japan, settling in Richland in 1957. They raised four sons: Steven, David, Daniel and Ronald.
Ramona loved taking care of her family and their home -- cooking family meals, sewing clothes, gardening and caring for the family pets. She enjoyed family camping trips around Washington State. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Albert Santjer; sons Steven Leova, of Spokane; David Grace, of Okinawa, Japan; Daniel Margaret, of Bellevue; and Ronald, of Richland; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and her sister Irene Barr. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Vi Colp. A funeral service will be held Monday, 10th of June, at 1 p.m., at Memories at Sunset Event Center, 915 Bypass Highway, Richland, WA 99352. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
I am so sorry to hear about Aunt Mona. I do know how difficult this time is for you Uncle Al, Steve, Dave, Dan and Ron. I wish I could have been there with all of you. Please know that I have a lot of fond memories of the time the families shared together. Love, Connie
