My mom, Jean Phreaner, worked in the lab with your mom for many years. She spoke vey highly of her, and appreciated working with her. My thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
Alice and I “shared” a full time position at Kadlec Hospital laboratory from 1973 to 1976. I can still hear her voice as she called everyone “hon”. She was a very sweet lady to work with….a blessing to be sure.
Alice Fuqua and her former husband Dr. Fuqua have been very good friends of ours for over 40yrs. We are so sorry to hear of her passing. She has been at Alterra for several years and I was able to play the piano every week for her, her favorite song was “Alice Blue Gown”. We pray that she will rest in peace.

Annie and Don,
I heard about your mom’s passing and send out my condolences to you both. Annie, we had lots of fun playing dolls and having our neighborhood “dog shows” with Sporty and any others we could round up. Your mom always let us make chocolate chip cookies and I always tried to eat the dough before they were baked she didn’t like that very much. Gowen St. was wonderful then and your house was tops on the list of where I spent many fun hours.
Hope you and your families are well and happy.
Aloha,
Sandi
Ahhh, Dear Alice, you are finally back with Phil. We all had a fun time, didn’t we? So many barbeques on the dock, patio parties, big talking sessions under your big tree, waterskiing, picnics on the island, bridge. You and Phil, Milt and Rhoda Lewis, Jack and Virginnia Heffner and my parents, Marge and John Fox created a beautiful neighborhood for all of us to grow up in. Building that dock and the zillions of fun times it offered to all of us remains one of the most exhilarating, sustained times of my life. You all created such a beautiful tapestry that ushered us all into adult life with such color, vibrance, connection and community. Thanks for being a part of my life for 60 years, Alice. You, like the others, truly were part of the Greatest Generation. I will miss you.
Aynn & Don,
I was sorry to hear about your Mom. She was a very sweet person and always made me feel so welcome at your home. What a great neighborhood you lived in growing up on Gowen. So many good families there with lots of kids to play with. Aynn – do you remember when we would walk to your house from Chief Jo and always stop at Penney’s to buy ourselves their large very large bags of popcorn? Whenever I walk along the dike above Gowen, I think of you and all the fun we had.
