Betty Patricia Lundrigan, 89, passed away August 16, 2013 at Guardian Angel in Richland, Washington. Betty was the first of four children, born July 18, 1924, to Charles and Ruth Thornton in Puyallup, WA. She grew up and attended the Puyallup public schools where she graduated. She married Marion "Bud" Lundrigan August 27, 1943. They were blessed with two children.
In 1957, the family moved to Richland Washington after Bud took a job with General Telephone. Betty worked in the dry cleaning field. She went to night school to further her business education. Betty took a job at Seattle First National Bank in Richland where she enjoyed making many happy memories working with the public and her peers until her retirement. After retirement she and Bud, with friends enjoyed a few years being "Snow Birds" traveling the western United States.
Betty is survived by her daughter Marian Smith of Boise, Idaho; son Lynn Jolene Lundrigan of Pasco, Washington; Grandchildren Amy Bryon Putman of Boise, Idaho; Ryan Kerri Lundrigan of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Brady Ron Mitchell of Pasco, Washington; Great Grandchildren Aubrianna, Benjamin and Bradley Putman; Baby Boy Mitchell to be born this fall; Her sister Gloria Don Aylen of Puyallup, Washington; Her sister in law Bliss Gilman Welcker of Anacortes, Washington and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bud Lundrigan; her parents and her sister Barbara and brother Charles Jr. Lefty.
She will always be remembered for her kind heart, love of cats, wind chimes and anything the color blue. We will always smile when remembering her green salad and her knack for miniature golf. We will miss her giggles and seeing her beautiful blue eyes. Betty's family is especially appreciative of the tender and compassionate care given her by the staff at Guardian Angel.
A graveside service is planned for family and friends Saturday @ 2PM August 31, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Please join us at an open house to follow at her son's home in Pasco from 3-5 pm directions at service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or your favorite charity.
I want to offer my condolences to you, Marion, as my former cousin in law….I never did get to meet your mother, but I have heard many comments about how kind she was.
With my love and prayers, Helen
