Kathy succumbed to the multiple effects of lifelong diabetes, cancer and congenital heart disease Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Life Care Center of Richland.
Kathy was born on August 25, 1950 and was raised by her parents Leonard and Dolores Allen in Naperville, Illinois. Despite being diagnosed with diabetes at age 9 she was active in sports and school activities.
In 1970 she became Mrs. Michael Froehlke and together they had two sons, Peter and Thomas. In 2003 a job move brought them to a new home in Benton City.
Kathy is survived her two brothers, Daniel and James, Daughter's-in-law Julie and Desiree and two grandchildren Katelynn and Jacob.
A memorial service will be held at the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall at 1324 Woodbury Street, Richland at 2:00PM Saturday August 10.

I’m very sorry that you have lost Grandma. Although she may not be here with us today she will still always be in our hearts. I’m sorry we can not be with you at this time and I hope to see you soon.
Peace Mike! I feel bad that I cannot be with you at this hour of your grief and leave taking of Kathy, Paula and I both appreciated her friendship and kindness over the years. Kathy was a good friend I met through my sister. It was a joy knowing Kathy and I will miss her. May God comfort her family knowing Kathy is at peace in the loving arms of our Lord.
Mike, it was such a pleasure to help you and Kathy find your home in this area. Kathy was such a lovely person and much fun to be with. I always enjoyed our conversations as we visited numerous times over the years. My sincere sympathy for your loss.

Dear Grandpa & Uncle Pete,
Sending you a big hug across the miles! Some of my favorite memories ever are of meeting you both & Grandma in IL. I will miss her lots, especially our phone calls when she would tell me to sit still while I was talking. She always knew I couldn’t sit still. She was the best Grandma ever & I am thankful for all the great memories & love she leaves with us.

I regret we are so far away & unable to be there with you during this time. Please know you are in our hearts, thoughts & prayers. I wish you loving memories to comfort you as you say goodbye to an amazing lady. I am blessed to have been able to call her Mom & family. We will miss her greatly.
