Dennis Kerwick
Born November 3, 1943 to John and Nancy Kerwick in Bryan, Texas. Dennis crossed over to his final reward on October 1 2013 at Kadlec Medical Center. Dennis was preceded in death by his father John, mother Nancy as well as his wife Norine his stepson David and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his wife Catherine Kerwick Cantrell, his brothers Ned and John, Niece Emily Kerwick, and nephews John, Craig, and Kevin.
In his early years his quest for adventure lead to some interesting lines of work. Among other things he worked in construction, shipbuilding, logging, and oil drilling. When time and opportunity permitted he spent his time outdoors hiking, camping, hunting, fishing and mountain climbing. He had a strong interest in early western history and spent many pleasurable hours learning about the mountain men and participating in reenact ions of mountain man rendezvous.
In 1975, Dennis his wife Norine and stepchildren David and Roxanne moved to Richland from Lake Stevens WA. He went to work on the Hanford site where he worked as a Maintenance Supervisor and Manager until his retirement in 2003. After retiring from Hanford Dennis worked as a consultant supporting both Government and Commercial Nuclear Facilities.
In 1997 Dennis' stepson David passed away and was followed by his wife Norine in 1999. Dennis remarried in February of 2003. Dennis and his wife Cathy enjoyed traveling and seeing the sights this country has to offer, and especially enjoyed their trip back east last year. They enjoyed their house in Richland and the yard as well as being outdoors with their dogs. But, most of all Dennis and Cathy enjoyed being with each other and never missed a chance to express their love for each other.
A funeral service for Dennis will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 3:00pm at Memories at Sunset Event Center, 915 By-Pass Hwy, Richland.
