Eugene Earl McLeod Gene, Geno, Clouds, Hoop, 62, passed away December 13, 2013 at home in Benton City, Washington after an extended battle with illness and cancer. Gene was born in Richland in 1951, raised and living most of his life in Benton City, his employment included pipefitter and operating engineer at Hanford, house painter, concrete layer, and building maintenance. The last 15 years Gene was disabled but he participated in raising our children and then some.

Respected member of the Flathead Tribe of Montana, Gene contributed to his heritage at Pow-Wows with traditional dance, jewelry making, beadwork, and creating dance outfits. He leaves many beloved family members and friends.

Sadly, his parents, Earl and Juanita McLeod and his brother, Kenneth, precede Gene in death.

His Brother Kenneth's wife, Lois, and children Teresa, David, Dennis, Denise, and Christine, mother-in law, Marry Douglas, and sisters-in law Debbie, Pam, Kim, and their families also survive Gene.

  • Dear McLeod Family:

    I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Death is something that pains us all, we never want to see our love ones go. I will like to send my condolence to the family and friends, as well as, to share a comforting scripture. It’s Rev 21:4- ” And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” May this scripture bring comfort to you all, for this is a loving promise from our heavenly Father, a promise that soon all suffering will end, especially death.

  • He clasps the crag with crooked hands;

    Close to the sun in lonely lands,

    Ringed with the azure world, he stands.

    The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;

    He watches from his mountain walls,

    And like a thunderbolt he falls.

    Rest in Peace Geno…

  • To my siblings Eugene and Angela I’m sorry for your loss. Keep his memory alive by remembering the good times. Also keeping his memory alive by keeping active in our Native culture. He had some wonderful stories about his dances. We shared some nice conversations which I will hold onto. Again so sorry for your loss.
