From Richland, WA, USA | Born in Shanghai
Zhuqing Yu
Zhuqing Yu, Pastor Guo's wife, age 74, was called home by our Lord on September 19, 2014. She is survived by her husband Zhichun Guo of Richland, son Timothy Guo of Saratoga, California, son Yang Guo of Shanghai, People's Republic of China, grandson Michael and Samuel of Saratoga, grandson Matthew of Shanghai.
She was born in Shanghai on June 1, 1940. She graduated from Anhui University in August 1962. She married her college school mate in February of 1964. They attended same middle school in the years of 1952-1955. Their two families also knew each other for long time. In Chinese language that kind of relationship is called qing-mei-zhu-ma childhood sweetheart.
She started work at the Research Institute of Northeast Pharmaceutical Center of China from 1962 till 1972. Then she moved to Anhui University to teach analytical chemistry as a lecturer from 1972 till 1988. This was the first period in her life where she was able to live together with her husband. In 1988 she moved to Shanghai with her two sons and worked as a senior engineer for the Shanghai Chemical Reagent works.
In 1992 she moved to Madison, Wisconsin, to reunite with her husband. In 1994 she moved to Portland, Oregon, where she worked as a sale's clerk for Albertsons, to help her husband finish his theological education. On August 7, 1999, she and her husband moved to Richland, WA, to pastor the Tri-Cities Chinese Alliance Church. For the first time in her life she could enjoy moving with her husband. She took great pride in being the wife of a pastor. She loved and enjoyed Bible study and all kinds of activities with her brothers and sisters. She was a devoted member of her church.
On January 29, 2009, she drowned in the water during swimming. She has been in a persistent vegetative state since then.
She came to know Jesus as her personal Lord & Savior in1963. Her church family held a very important spot in her heart. We are at peace knowing that she is now in our heavenly Father's restful arms and will wake at the second coming when Jesus soon returns.
Our family wants to thank all the staff at Richland Rehab Center for their devoted care of Zhuqing Yu in the last five and half difficult years of her life. They also wish to express sincere gratitude and appreciation to all members of Tri-Cities Chinese Alliance Church for providing care and support that exceeded expectations.
Funeral services were held on September 20, 2014, at Einan's at Sunset 915 By Pass Hwy, Richland, WA 99352.
