  • Linda and Mark, I just heard the news today about the passing of your Mother, Kay. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I remember both your parents quite well from my days of growing up in Richland, WA and our families living on the same street. Kay was such a wonderful and kind person always going the extra mile to help others, cooking, crafting and working on her various projects. I still have a couple of those projects in my home from your mother and those long ago days. I remember the last time I visited with Kay when I came to Richland about four years ago and spending the afternoon with her and Mark. She gave me a tour of her craft room and shared her various projects with me. God who is the greatest architect of all has called another one of his angels home. I pray for God’s peace and comfort for both of you and your families during this time and I am thankful I had the privilege of knowing such a sweet, sweet, lady. Blessings to you all.

  • I have wonderful memories of Kay as we worked together every Sunday morning at RLC when our children were small, Kay cared for my three girls in her home while I worked at Paulson’s preschool. When I picked them up, Kay’s kitchen was a mess because she was busy “crafting” with the preschool age children she “babysat.” My girls loved her and loved going there. May God bless her daughter and son at this time of grief and may they remember their mom as a child-loving mother who loved the Lord!

  • Our family will miss Kay. She was a very special person. She is what I would say is a true Christian. She didn’t just attend Sunday church services, and call it good. She lived her everyday life in service to others. She used her God-given talents, of which there were many, to help and serve other people. She was creative in everything she did, from sewing, to basket-making, to stained glass, to cards and stamping, to macramé, and yes, to cooking. Boy, was she a good cook. But she didn’t just cook for her own family, and friends; she planned, organized, and executed the most wonderful meals for church groups, girl scouts, and PEO functions. Her meals were delicious, always hot, and always aesthetically pleasing. Perhaps, her final gift to the world is the example she set as a kind, generous and giving person, caring for others before herself. We would all do well to follow that example. Kay is being welcomed in heaven right now by the words: “Well done, good and faithful servant”.

  • My thoughts and prayers are with you both, Linda and Mark, as well as your families. Your Mom was a wonderful babysitter way back when to me and to my sisters. I have fond memories of her from babysitting us to her teaching Sunday School at RLC and all of us kids playing together at both of our homes.
