Mary Jean Clark Obit

Mary Jean Clark, 82, of Richland, died Wednesday, January 28th, at Kadlec Medical Center.

She was born to the late Arnold and Hilma Isaacson, August 10, 1932, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Jean graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School in 1950 and attended Kinman Business College in Spokane. She then moved to Richland to work at Hanford where she met Keith Clark. They married in 1953, choosing to continue to make their home and raise their family in the Tri-Cities.

Jean chose to stay home with her children until they were in high school, and then resumed her career at Battelle until she and Keith retired. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends until Keith's passing in 2009. She then moved to the Riverton retirement community, where she enjoyed making new friendships and rekindling a number of old ones.

Jean is survived by her children: Cindy Luerkens (Chuck) and Pat Clark (Carol) of Pasco. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to either the Benton-Franklin Humane Society or to Children's Hospital of Seattle.

Inurnment services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland. Friends and family are welcome to gather at Pat and Carol Clark's home following the services.

  • Jean and I worked together at PNNL before her retirement. She was a consummate professional and very kind. She kept me out of trouble organizationally (well, she at least tried to). I hope she is dancing with the angels.
