I am sad today because I’ve lost a friend, a mentor, and 3 times my boss at Hanford. I first met Brian after his military service when he came back to work at PUREX. The following 50 years were filled with many wonderful memories. He never did anything half-way…it was all or nothing, and when said something you knew was wrong, you still believed it because he had said it. Fitz lived larger than life and I just figured he’d live on forever. Kathi and my prayers are with Carolyn and the rest of his family as they feel his tremendous loss.

Glenn an I would like to extend our deepest condolences to Carolyn and family for your loss. Quick wit is what I remember the most, with a similar brand of humor as Chuckles had! Brian and my dad must be enjoying a bit of “ornery” fun right about now.
With love and respect:
Glenn, Christy, and family
Both Colleen and I respectfully send our best regards to Carolyn and the rest of BR’s family. We had many great times with Brian from bowling in the Atomic Lanes Major League to the Friday night ELKs couples league at Columbia Lanes (and associated beer bets).
Many great times with Brian at the Elks, he was the one who got me interested in the Elks. We had many great evenings with BR at the Lodge, including when he would call for a “nurse” for another round of drinks. Luckily Carolyn was able to drive us all home on the foggy night. Playing poker and pitch at the Lodge were always memorable for a variety of reasons.
He was a great human being and will be missed by all who knew him.
With Respect

Brian was an amazing guy. Working for him and with him for over 35 years I can honstly say Brian was one of a kind. The mind of a genius and a heart of gold. So many memories. So many funny times and some tough times too.
I was honored to be a friend and the thought of Brian being gone is almost unbelievable.
My Thoughts are with his family and my heart is broken but I know Brian would just say move on.

My deepest sympathy for Brian’s family. I worked with Brian at -5 a very long time ago, He was always “the Best” to work with and somebody from whom you could always get a straight answer. Definitely one of the highly competent, good guys. The world suffers the loss of a terrific human being.
Carolyn, we’re so sorry to hear of Brian’s passing. It came as a shock to us. We have great memories (our bowling days…he taught me how to play Bridge) our Elks gatherings…they were wonderful.
Our hearts are with you

When I met my husband 35 years ago, Fitz and Don were roommates. Needless to say, I have many fond memories of Fitz. One of my favorites is a road trip to Reno with Fitz, Carolyn, Larry, Don and I. I don’t think Fitz slept the entire 3 days we were there. Listening to his stories was always entertaining and a lengthy experience that included many of his unforgettable laugh, BAAH HAAAA. We saw Fitz and Carolyn about a month ago and feel blessed to have spent time with him one last time. Our thoughts and prayers are with Carolyn and family. Fitz was a special person who will always have a place in our hearts. We will miss you, friend.
To the Family of Brian: My heartfelt sympathy, prayers and love go out to you all. I have known Brian all of my life and the memories of the old childhood neighborhood with all of us children is a dear one in my heart. I am so sorry for your loss of Brian and I know he will be sorely missed by you all. May God speed Brian’s journey Home to Him and may He grant you all the courage to get through this terrible loss that you are going through. God bless you all. Love, Judy
