Charles “Chuck” Ellis Richardson, of Richland, WA died peacefully at is son’s house on Sunday, March 15, 2015 after a short courageous battle with cancer.  He was born in Dayton, Ohio May 19, 1939 to Goldie and Clarence Murnan.         

                Chuck was raised in Indiana and moved to southern California in 1954 and graduated from North Torrance High school in 1957.  He married Donna Richardson on July 15, 1960, after a whirlwind 6 week romance.  Chuck was a retired Captain from the Torrance Fire Department where he was employed for 30 years.

In 1993, Chuck and Donna moved to the Tri-Cities area.  He was an active member of Richland Lutheran Church and was involved with numerous activities.  Chuck was very involved with his grandchildren and loved watching them play sports and dance.  He also liked to camp with his wife, golf, bowl, play cards and travel.  He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and uncle and will be missed by all.

Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; beloved son, Bobby; parents: Goldie and Clarence; step-father, Kenneth; step-mother, Esther; brother, David; and grandson, Joshua. He is mourned by his sons: Steve (Leslie), Mike (Isabel); and daughter, Shari (Ron) Wiley; sister, Barbara; sister-in-law, Sandy (CR) Smith; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be Saturday, March 21, 2015, 3 p.m. at Richland Lutheran Church; 901 Van Giesen.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
