Sorry for your loss of your husband, may God bless and watch over you and the family. God is with you so rely on him.
There’s just something about your oldest brother, especially in a West Point uniform, that is so magical when you’re very young. My favorite picture of Ed is one with me at two years old standing with him at West Point. He was our hero. His laugh made you laugh…we actually used to imitate his laugh. We were all so proud of him.
We love you, Ed, and you will be greatly missed. Rest in peace with Mom and the Colonel.
Love,
Sharon (“Twister”)
Rogena& family. I was so sadden,d to hear of Ed,s passing! I said to myself, at Christmas, I think this is the last time I,will see Ed.!! Ed , was a real Southern gentleman. And I want to say that he served his country well.!!!!! MY prayer,s and thought,s are with you at this sad time. Love Sue.
I always idolized my older brother, Ed. I’ll never forget the first time I saw him in his cadet uniform at West Point at Christmas of 1954. He set the bar extremely high in everything he accomplished. Even though we were usually thousands of miles apart, we would talk whenever Army was playing Navy in football! He was a true patriot and loved West Point. I will cherish the memory of him.
Ed and family,
So sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. I have been praying for you, your wife, and your daughter since reading it in the paper.
It is especially hard to lose a Grandpa, when they live close by.
God bless you all, and may His comfort see you through these sad times.
I worked with Ed for many years at Hanford in nuclear safety, where he was fondly known as “Dodd Squared” (Ed Dodd III being fondly known as Dodd Cubed). He was a valuable asset to our group and will be missed.
I was sorry to read about your father’s death, Ed.
He sounded like a very impressive man.
I’m sorry for your loss,
Marilyn Morford
It was an honor and a pleasure to have Ed in my life. His was a life well served. Thank you for being a good husband to my mother, and for the times you shared with our family.
Farewell, big brother. You were a kind, loving, intelligent older brother who acted as a trailblazer and inspiration to your younger siblings. Hardworking, and industrious as a teenager, you always took the time, and had the patience, to let your younger brother tag along when you took girlfriends to the movies and the beach. I will always remember the ice cream and french fries you sent me to fetch at Buckroe Beach, Virginia. I had no idea it was a nice way of getting rid of a little pest so you could spend time with your date. Thanks for always looking out for me and especially for buying our family’s first television set with money you earned as a stock boy at Colonial Stores. Rest easy, dear brother, you will always be my hero. With love, your little brother Bobby.
Ed was a great story teller. Laughter was contagious. He will be missed by family and friends.
Ed, Shawnlee, and Krystal – my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
