Gloria Clark
G. Jean Clark passed away on February 20, 2015 at home. She was born November 1, 1929 in Tacoma, Washington, the fifth of six children born to Roy and Myrtle Shero. She was preceded in death by both parents, three older brothers: Art, Dick and Jack Shero, one older sister, Betty Young and a younger brother Cliff Shero.
Survivors include: husband Dewey Clark, daughter; Cathy Thompson of Richland with her son Jeremiah Thompson and his wife Rachel in Vancouver, Washington; son, Chane Clark and wife Julie and their two sons; Cole and Ceyel in Seattle, Washington; Son Curt Clark and his wife Kendra with their son Jaydon and daughter Isabelle in Meridian, Idaho.
In early years, Jean’s family lived on a dairy farm near Castle Rock, Washington where he attended elementary school and graduated from Castle Rock High School in 1947. She later received academic training in secretarial studies, after which she eventually to Moscow, Idaho where she became employed by the University of Idaho. It was there that he met Dewey Clark whom she married in October of 1950 and subsequently moved to Richland, Washington where they both found employment with G.E. on the Hanford Project.
Jean and her husband became members of the Westside Church where they attended services and participated in church activities while raising their family. After her retirement from Pacific Northwest National Laboratories in 1992, she became a member of the Kadlec Auxiliary which she enjoyed and where she made new friends. She also enjoyed traveling to various places and events with her lady friends and playing cards on a regular basis with senior-aged friends.
A Memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, March 21 at 2:00 P.M. at Westside Church in their North sanctuary building. Her family requests that no flowers be sent and anyone who wishes to do so please consider a donation to your favorite charity instead.
So terribly sorry, D.E., that I can’t be there for for the Memorial but know that I am thinking of you and Jean’s family. I will be making a donation to Easter Seals.
