ROSALINE (TAGUDIN) WASIERSKI

July 27, 1924 - March 9, 2015

Rosaline Wasierski was born on July 27, 1924 in Wahiawa, HI and passed away peacefully on March 9, 2015 at Wynwood of Columbia Edgewater in Richland, WA at the age of 90.  She was the eldest of 5 children born to Domingo and Florentina Tagudin. Rosaline "Rose" grew up in Wahiawa, HI and began her love affair with music starting piano lessons at age 6. She left home at age 12 to attend Sacred Hearts Academy in Honolulu. On her weekends home she played the organ for Sunday mass at Our Lady of Sorrows church in Wahiawa. While serving as a pianist at Our Lady of Sorrows church she met a young soldier, the love of her life and future husband Walter Wasierski.  They were married on August 23, 1942 and soon started a family. Rose, Walter and their family traveled wherever Walt's work in the military and Federal Aviation Agency took them throughout the United States and Guam.  In 1962 they returned to Hawaii where their seventh child was born.

Equal to her love of music was her love of cooking. Rose enjoyed trying new recipes and treated her friends and family to fabulous meals.  While raising her family, she also taught piano lessons and served as organist and choir director at Our Lady of Sorrows Church until 1979 when Walt’s work took them to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.  Rose spoke of Saudi Arabia as one of the most exciting adventures of her life time.

Rose and Walt relocated to Central Point, OR in 1981 after Walt’s retirement.  Rose continued to share her passion for music and love for her faith, serving as a pianist at Shepherd of the Valley Catholic church in Central Point for many years. She moved to Richland, WA in 2013 to be closer to family.      Rosaline was an accomplished pianist, fabulous cook, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her children, Robert Wasierski, Patricia Bennett (Howard), Phillip Wasierski, David Wasierski, Therese Clauss (Scott), Frances Denison (Darryl), 15 grandchildren, and several great- and great-great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister Delores Williams, brothers Alfredo Tagudin (Norma), Domingo Tagudin, Jr. (Lina) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter, daughter Maria (Rehkamp) and brother Joseph.

Viewing and rosary will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2015, 5:00 p.m. at Conger-Morris funeral home in Central Point, OR.  Funeral mass will be held Thursday, March 19, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church in Central Point, OR. Interment will be at Eagle Point Veteran's Cemetery, Eagle Point, OR, 2:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Heartlinks Palliative Care & Hospice of Sunnyside, WA.
