From West Richland, WA | Born in Pasco, WA

Charles (Chip) V. Corbett, Jr.

Our beloved brother, Charles Vernon Corbett, Jr. (aka Chip, Chipper, Uncle Chip, Uncle Meatball), died from a heart attack on Sunday, May 24th.  Chip was with his brother, Craig Corbett, and sister, Charlotte Parker, beside him.

Chip was born in Pasco and grew up in West Richland, spending most of his life in the Tri-City area.   He attended Hanford High School and received his GED in 1981.  Chip traveled around the country during his 20’s.  After our father died in 1986, he chose to help our mother live a comfortable life at home until her death in 2010.  In this time frame, he helped other family members in their time of need.  Chip had a smile on his face that brightened up a room with his jokes and sense of humor.  Children and animals (dogs especially) were drawn to his loving nature.

His hobbies were gaming on the computer with his brother, nephews and friends, code names Thrawne, Canann and Master Chipling.  His passion was sports, like the Seahawks (GO HAWKS!) and Mariners.

Chip is survived by his close and dear brother, Craig Corbett; his sisters, Charlotte (Mel) Parker and Barb (Andy) Moore, and his brother Martin (Frankie) Corbett; plus 9 nephews, 6 nieces, 9 great nephews, 9 great nieces and one great-great nephew.  His family members that have received him in heaven are our parents, Jean & Chuck Corbett Sr.; grandparents, Vivan & Martin Bjur; grandmother, Georgia Poulas; brother-in-law, Rod Johns, and great Aunt Myrna Folsom Estes.

A celebration of Life will be held at his sister’s home, 1608 Riverside Drive, West Richland starting around noon with potluck on Saturday, May 30, 2015.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to gofundme.com/v7qzz78 or at the potluck.
