Harold D. Fetzer
Harold Dale Fetzer, 83, died peacefully in his home in
Kennewick, WA on May 16, 2015. He is survived by his son, Craig Fetzer and
wife, Linda; his son, Jay Fetzer, and
daughter, Jordis Ernst and husband, Greg; grandchildren: John Fetzer and wife,
Morgan, Jacob Fetzer, Caitlan Fetzer, Curtis Fetzer, Kyle Fetzer, Paul Ernst
and wife Michelle, and Kyle Ernst. He is
predeceased by his wife, Jane Fetzer; sister, Elsie Klinger; and great-granddaughter,
Elodie Jane Ernst.
Born and raised in Turtle Lake, North Dakota, the son of Jacob and Mollie Fetzer, he enjoyed a career in the US Army Corps of Engineers working in North Dakota, The Dalles, OR, and Eastern Washington. Harold and Jane were married September 13, 1952 and were very much involved in their children’s lives. Harold and Jane were especially proud of their grandchildren; whose lives will be forever blessed with their love, laughter, kindness, unselfishness, and generosity.
One of Harold’s greatest joys was to sit with friends and family and share stories of the past, politics, and the history of this country. Harold felt not many would see such great change in one’s lifetime as his generation. His keen knowledge and experiences he shared are one of the greatest gifts he left for all of us.
There will be a Memorial Service and reception at 4:30pm on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Einan’s at Sunset; Richland, WA.
Still get a chuckle just thinking about how many times I received his greetings, scrutiny, support, and jokes. Closest thing i had to a dad since mine passed. Glad you shared him with friends. Love you all!
Harold was such a dear sweet, fun man.
Remembering the good times I had with him, especially Paul & Michelle’s wedding festivities. Thinking of all the family during this time.
