From Green Valley, AZ | Born in Seattle, WA
Dick Gould
(Dick) Michael Gould peacefully passed away April 6,
2015 at home, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with an
aggressive form of cancer. Dick was born on July 1, 1947 in Seattle, Washington
to Douglas and Billie Gould. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in
Seattle, WA, then began his military career with the Marines in September 1966.
He transferred his military service to the U.S. Army to take advantage of
officer candidate school, and continued on with the U S Army Reserve. He
retired from the Military as Major Richard Gould, with a cumulative 28.7 years
of service. Richard also worked for Mothers Cookies and the Fred Meyer Co. He
retired from Bank of America in 2006, after 18 years in various positions
including Banking Center Manager.
Dick was preceded in death by his biological mother and father and step father,
Leonard B. Hamshaw. Dick was a loving husband and father. He leaves behind his
best friend and beloved wife, Chris. He was very proud of his daughters
Michelle Gould, Ft Huachuca, AZ and Laura Moniz, (Cyril) Hilo, HI. He also
leaves his sister Dianne Braun (Pete) of Kennewick, WA, two step brothers Parry
(Jan) Pateros, WA, Steve (Maria) Puyallup, WA, and two step sisters Carol
(George) Pateros WA, and Sally Silverdale, WA. In addition to six
grandchildren, Meghann, Phillip, Rebekah, Joshua, Austin and Ivy, he leaves
numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. All of the family and
extended family participated in his love of the outdoors. He taught many how to
fish at Sekiu WA, his favorite fishing area and delighted in sharing golfing
and other outdoor activities. Dad, Grandpa or Uncle Dick could always bring a smile
to your face with teasing or a cute pun. He was a kind and generous person who
brought joy to those around him, always thinking of and putting others before
himself. Dick was a man of honor and integrity, who was very proud of his
family, friends and Military service. He will be deeply missed.
Dick will be cremated at Green Valley Mortuary, Green Valley AZ and interred in
the Veterans section of Sunset Gardens Memorial Cemetery in Richland, WA, on June 13, 2015.
A memorial and military honors service will be provided to share with family
and friends. We appreciate the wonderful care from Dr. Sanjay Ramakumar, and
Dr. Lisa Hazard and her radiation team over the past year. The family is
grateful for the loving care provided by Valor Hospice during his last month.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made in his name to Green
Valley Animal League. 1600 W. Duval Mine Rd. Green Valley, AZ 85614
