Kathaline Yvonne Bennett Conley
3/26/1926 - 11/6/2015
Kathaline passed from this life on Friday, November 6, 2015, with her son-in-law Eric Stephan holding her hand and humming "How Great Thou Art" at the Hospice House in Kennewick, Washington.
Kathaline was born on March 26, 1926, to Forest and Florence Bennett in Spokane, Washington. She moved very often, living with various family members and friends as she was growing up.
Kathaline met her husband, Lawrence Conley, in San Francisco, California, and they were married a short time later in Reno, Nevada. They lived in many places such as Rhode Island, Florida, Montana, Oregon, and finally settled in Richland, Washington, on their daughter Christine's 2nd birthday in 1960.
Kathaline spent her adult life as a homemaker and mom, with some brief employment as a grocery clerk and a motel and hospital housekeeper. She loved to sew and made many clothes for herself, her kids, and her grandkids. She was a great cook and spent many hours in the kitchen creating wonderful meals. She was known as "the cookie lady" to the volunteer firefighters at the West Richland fire station because she loved to bake them cookies. She enjoyed singing and was a member of the church choir for many years. Gardening was another passion that gave her great enjoyment.
Kathaline's greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Kathaline is survived by her daughters Marilyn Collier, Linda (John) Seifert, Laurie (Kevin) Lucke, and Chris (Eric) Stephan; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A small inurnment service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland, WA, on Sunday, December 20, at 2 p.m.
"I'll take you home again Kapadee."
Prayers and fond memories are what we have to remember our dearly departed. May the love of family and friends comfort you during these difficult days, my most heartfelt condolences. Revelation 21:4;JW.ORG
I was sorry to hear of Kathalines passing. I miss our visits. I only got to see Kathaline when she would stop by my work. She always had time to ask how I was doing and look at pictures of my son Matthew. We met in 2008 when I was pregnant, she was always kind to me asking how I was doing. I am glad to know she was with family at the end and knew the Lord.
