Tanya Fisher
Our Daughter
Tanya Ann Fisher was born on November 30, 1969 in San
Antonio, Texas. She passed away on November 4, 2015 in Kennewick, Washington,
26 days before her 46th birthday. Tanya arrived as a “special”
daughter.
Tanya lived her whole life between Richland and Kennewick,
Washington. She attended Hanford, Spaulding Special Education and later was
main streamed into the Kennewick school system. Between her junior and senior
years, she transferred back into Richland School District and graduated from
Richland High School in 1990.
As a young girl, Tanya took ballet lessons and was active in
Camp Fire Girls. She learned to play the organ. She loved putting puzzles
together and was very accomplished in this area. She loved playing with her
step-sisters, cousins and all the family pets. Tanya loved going to school and
did very well in her classes.
As she grew, she participated in Special Olympics and was always winning awards. She collected many ribbons and medals through the years.
After graduating from high school, Tanya worked for Goodwill Industries for 20 years. She was a client of the Tri-Cities Residential Services.
As the years passed from beginning to end, Tanya became empowered to live her life fully. She did this by keeping herself busy. She was kind, loving and at times stubborn.
Tanya was blessed to have two sets of parents: Gary and
Kathryn Fisher and Ann and Dennis Morissette who loved her unconditionally. She
had a large extended family by having her life “blended” together.
Tanya, your family is proud of who you were and what you accomplished in your lifetime. You always knew who you were and you always exceeded our expectations. You will always be in our hearts and the memories of your life will be with us forever. You were and are loved greatly and will be missed by all.
A special thank you to Terilyn and all the personal who
worked with Tanya from the Tri-Cities Residential Services.
Tanya is survived by her parents, Gary (father) and Kathryn (stepmother) Fisher; Ann (mother) and Dennis Morissette; (stepfather), stepsisters; Wendy Morissette and Dawn Faught; granparents, Marion and Josephine Locke (deceased), Myron (deceased) and Trudy Fisher; great grandparents Claude and Sue Locke (deceased); aunts and uncles, Tim and Virginia Locke, Roy and Kelly Locke, Linda Daniel and Barbara Edwards. She is also survived by her cousins, Jennifer Thompson, Christine Merrick, Larry Locke, Mary Ruiz, Jason Locke, Joi Devoir, Cheyenne Locke, Tara Edwards and numerous second cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 12:00pm at Events at Sunset in Richland WA, with a graveside at Sunset Gardens to follow. Please come share your memories immediately following the graveside, at a reception being held at our Events Center.
May your recollections of all the sweet, funny, absurd, and stubborn stories of Tanya help you through this time. We are so sorry for your loss. Sending our love to you.
Our thoughts and prayers to the family during this sad time. We never physically met Tanya, but know her through the eyes of her mom, Ann.
