Freda Margaret Campbell
Freda Margaret Campbell, 91-years-old, passed away on April 3, 2016. Freda’s strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried her through the last week at the hospital.
Freda was born on April 8, 1924 in Ashton, Iowa to Mathias and Anna Poss. Freda was one of eight children. On August 13, 1947, Freda married Robert “Bob” Campbell in White, South Dakota. The wedding was a double ceremony to include her sister Agnes who married Bob’s brother Vern. The double marriage provided a unique closeness of both families through the years. Freda and Bob headed west and settled in Richland, Washington. Married for 49 years, Freda and Bob raised their 5 children, Barbara, Mike, Jimmy, Patty, and Linda. Freda was a woman of faith and the heart of the Campbell family. She was a longtime member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She was active with the Catholic Alter Society, Senior Chore Service, and many other volunteer activities.
Freda
loved to talk. She was known for her ease in frequent conversation with
even total strangers and an entertaining sense of humor. Her signature gift of
laughter, shown through her constant smiling, joy, and joking around, will
never be forgotten. Freda was a true American. She honored the USA flag and all it
represented. Freda enjoyed gardening,
mowing her lawn, painting her house, scrapbooking, fishing, genealogy, yard
sales, playing cards, crocheting, and searching for happy people and finding
them.
Freda leaves behind her children; daughter Barb Ingle and husband Keith; son Mike and his wife Helen; son Jimmy and his wife Karen; Patty Reeves and her husband John; Linda Inions and her husband Joe; grandchildren Tommy (Mindy), David (Allison), and Stephen Campbell; Jenny Willis; Bobby Ingle; Matt (Chrissi), Scott (Lisa) and Brandon Reeves; Adrienne and Jack Inions; and nine great grandchildren.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, April 7, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary. A Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church on Friday, April 8 at 1:00 p.m., followed by Graveside Services at Sunset Gardens. A reception will be held at Events at Sunset at 2:30 p.m.
