DORIS LENORE HOLCROFT

Doris Holcroft was born October 1, 1918 to Fred and Pauline Beggan in Rushville, Nebraska and passed away in Benton City, Washington October 18, 2016 at the age of 92. Doris lived on a farm in Benton City for over 60 years and worked for many years as a secretary/clerk on the Hanford Reservation. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Pauline Beggan; her sisters, Florence and Ollie; her stepdaughter, Carole Roberts and stepson, Beau; stepdaughter, Sharon Best and stepson, Shaun and ex-husband, Tom Day.  Doris is survived by her husband of 49 years Jack O. Holcroft; sister, Hazel (100 years old); daughters, Linda (Gordon) Westerfield, Glenda (David) Eaton and stepson, Richard (Lela) Holcroft; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 1great great grandson.

Doris loved her rose garden and all the holidays especially Christmas.  She loved giving and receiving cards and has kept everyone she ever received.  She was a long time member of the Benton County Jr. Fair and Rodeo of Benton City and spent many hours helping in their café.  She was a Notary Republic for many years.

On Friday, October 28, 2016 visitation will start at 3 P.M. with a Celebration of  Her Life Ceremony at 4 P.M, Friday, at Events at Sunset, 915 Bypass Highway, Richland Washington followed by burial in the Benton City at Evergreen Cemetery and reception/potluck at the Benton City American Legion.
