Glen Miller
Glen L Miller
Glen was born on May 21, 1939, in Salt Lake City, UT to Francis and Marjorie Miller. Early in his life, the Miller family relocated to Richland where Glen met his future wife, Jo, at a Bomber’s football game in 1957.
Glen was an avid fisherman and was often found pursuing this
passion on the Columbia River, at the ocean or fly fishing in the
mountains. He shared his love of the
outdoors with his family, spending many hours fishing, camping and hiking. Glen always had a nugget of knowledge
regarding the outdoors to share with kids and others he met during his travels.
Glen loved animals and trained German Shorthair’s for hunting, along with getting daily loves from the family cats, in particular his buddy “Sammy”.
He also enjoyed both bowling and trap shooting, competing individually and as part of a team over the years.
Glen was known to be a kind, but stubborn man. Those that knew him best understood him to be a dreamer, often coming up with inventive ways to solve issues. He taught his kids early in life to never give up, taking pride in the accomplishments of those around him.
Glen retired from Battelle after 30+ years of service.
Glen passed away on October 10th at the age of 77. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years - Jo Miller, his children - Rocky & Tami Miller and Arlen & Cindi (Miller) Homer, his grandchildren - Chris & Chelsea (Miller) Mann, Samura Miller, Devin Homer, Jordan Homer, his sibling – Tom and Kathy (Miller) Kogan and numerous nieces and nephews.
At Glen’s request, no services will be held and his ashes will be scattered in the mountains. In lieu of services and/or flowers, donations may be made to hospice services.
